Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A. - June 29, 2007 - MTV Tr3s is bolstering its music programming strategy with the promotion of Jesus Lara to senior VP of music and talent and the hiring of Michael Galbe as the music and talent teams VP.
Lara helped launch MTV Tr3s and most previously served as VP of music marketing and talent/artist relations. He helped develop properties such as Descubre y Download and in his tenure at MTV developed international multi-platform campaigns around Franz Ferdinand and Shakira.
Lara will also supervise talent strategy for MTV/VH1 Latin America, including pan-regional programs like the Premios MTV awards show and MTV Unplugged. He reports to Jose Tillan, senior VP of content and music for MTV/VH1 Latin America.
Galbe, who was most recently senior international director at Jive Records, will oversee talent for MTV Tr3s shows like MiTRL. He is also responsible for managing and developing off-channel properties like concert tours and branded retail initiatives. He reports to Lara. The appointments are part of the previously-announced restructuring at MTV and VH1 Latin America.
